7 High-Fiber Foods That Boost Weight Loss

There are many foods that can be eaten to promote weight loss, which have been proven to help get rid of unwanted fat.

Health experts recommend eating foods that are high in fiber, which the body digests more slowly, helping you stay full for a longer period of time.

Here are some foods rich in fiber:

Barley

Eating barley can help you feel full and satisfied, which in turn may promote long-term weight loss. The high fiber content in barley is a major factor in reducing hunger, with beta-glucan (in particular) being a beneficial fiber that dissolves in water, forming a gel-like substance.

Experts have found that beta-glucan is an effective type of fiber for curbing appetite and reducing food intake. Soluble fiber has also been shown to reduce belly fat associated with metabolic problems.

- Oats and corn

For similar reasons, oats and corn can also help with weight loss.

- Brown bread (whole grain bread)

Studies spanning decades suggest that whole grain consumption is linked to a lower risk of obesity. According to a review of 15 studies involving 120,000 people, eating three servings of whole grains per day was linked to lower body mass index and belly fat.

- Legumes

Legumes, such as chickpeas, beans, lentils and peas, are rich in fibre, essential vitamins and minerals and plant-based protein.

Experts say eating more of them may help lower cholesterol, lower blood sugar levels, and increase healthy gut bacteria.

- Vegetables

Vegetables, such as carrots, cauliflower, beets, cabbage, and potatoes, provide plenty of soluble fiber.

- fruits

Many fruits contain soluble fiber, including avocados, which are rich in healthy fats and lots of fiber, and also provide vitamin C, potassium, magnesium, vitamin E and various B vitamins.

Meanwhile, one cup of raw berries contains 8 grams of fiber.

It is worth noting that when incorporating high-fiber foods into your diet, be sure to do so slowly over the course of a few days, and remember to drink plenty of water.
