The Russian Defense Ministry announced today, Friday, that 22 Ukrainian soldiers surrendered to the Russian army during the past week.
"22 Ukrainian soldiers surrendered on the combat lines during the week," the ministry said in its weekly report issued on Friday.
She pointed out that Ukrainian forces lost about 14,070 soldiers between dead and wounded during the past week.

The deputy head of the military-political directorate of the Russian forces, the commander of the "Akhmat" special forces, Apti Alaudinov, confirmed that the Ukrainian soldiers are waiting for the first opportunity to surrender.
“It turned out that our enemy on the front line, for the most part, are people who are forcibly mobilized. Without special training and without special equipment, they are thrown onto the front line and at the first opportunity they do everything to surrender and survive,” he added.
He added that to prevent them from surrendering, their detachments surround them, and even if they surrender, everything is done to prevent them from reaching us, and they are shot at with all types of weapons available to them.
