Dr. Aida Gadigoreva, a dermatologist and cosmetologist, points out that the latest studies in this field confirm that stress can accelerate the process of the appearance of white hair (graying). The results of experiments conducted by researchers showed that stress, within a few hours, leads to a decrease in the activity of melanocytes responsible for producing melanin, which gives hair its natural color.
The doctor indicates that gray hair may be related to genetic factors or specific diseases.
According to him, we must remember that stress is a personal phenomenon. That is, not all people are equally susceptible to its influence. Also, stress does not lead to gray hair in everyone.
