The US Army is testing its latest guns in Ukraine

The United States sent Ukraine its newest howitzer, the 105 mm Hawkeye.

This was reported by Russian military correspondent Alexander Sokolov, citing statements made by the head of the American company AM General, which manufactures the guns, Mark Evans, who announced that an experimental model of the howitzer was delivered to Kiev last April, and underwent combat tests within two weeks.

One of the advantages of the Falcon Eye is its light return and high shooting speed, as its operating range reaches 12 km, and it can rotate in 360 degrees.

The gun is placed on an open platform for a Humvee four-wheel drive vehicle, which ensures high maneuverability. The vertical guidance angle ranges between -5 degrees and +75 degrees. Its crew is 3 people, and the firing rate is 10-12 rounds per minute.

The combat weight of the Falcon Eye, placed on the Humvee platform, is about 4.4 tons, its length is 5 m, its width is 2.4 m, and its height is 2.3 m.

The cannon can be transported by the C-130 Hercules medium-range transport aircraft.

The Humvee platform on which the gun is mounted has good mobility. Its maximum speed is 100 km/h, it can travel a distance of 400 km, and passes vertical obstacles up to 0.3 m high, 0.5 m wide trenches, and water obstacles up to 76 cm deep.
