The General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowments in the Emirates has directed all preachers in its mosques to be brief in their Friday sermons, so that the duration of the sermon and prayer does not exceed 10 minutes.
The Authority has set the duration of the Friday prayer sermon at 10 minutes, starting tomorrow, Friday, until the beginning of next October.
She explained that her decision came "out of concern for the safety of worshippers and to prevent hardship for those who frequent the houses of God Almighty, especially during the summer months when temperatures rise."
The authority stated in a statement, “Tasitir is an approach firmly established in our true Islamic religion, which considers protecting oneself and preserving health to be among the five necessities of preserving religion, life, money, lineage, and mind.”
She explained that this measure is “in line with the approach of our state and our wise leadership, which pays special attention to preserving individuals’ health by enacting legislation and regulating laws that enhance this aspect.”
The authority also affirmed its “keenness to take care of the mosques, provide them with all their requirements, and create a comfortable environment for worshipers that enables them to perform their prayers in the houses of God with spirituality and reassurance.”
Great!
