On Monday, Deputy Chairman of the Central Hajj Committee, Prince Saud bin Mishal bin Abdulaziz, handed over the covering of the Kaaba to the Holy House of God, on behalf of King Salman bin Abdulaziz.
The delivery minutes were signed by the Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque, Dr. Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al-Rabiah, and the Deputy Chief of the House of God, Abdul Malik bin Taha Al-Shaibi.
The handover ceremony marks the replacement of the covering of the Holy Kaaba on the first of Muharram 1446 AH, after the authority completed the manufacture of the new covering for this year, which is manufactured at the King Abdulaziz Complex for covering the Holy Kaaba, using natural silk dyed black.
The height of the garment is 14 meters, and in the upper third of it there is a belt 95 centimeters wide and 47 meters long, consisting of 16 pieces surrounded by a square shape of Islamic decoration.
