The correct time to brush your teeth

A dentist issued a shocking warning about some morning habits that can destroy oral health, and suggested the correct time to brush teeth and ways to maintain healthy teeth and gums.

Most of us start our day by drinking coffee and eating breakfast, and according to dentist Dr. Shadi Manouchehri, brushing your teeth after that can do more harm than good.

Dr. Manouchehri, who runs Smart Dental and Aesthetics in London, revealed this information through her official Instagram account, leaving her 61.5 thousand followers astonished. She said: “Never brush your teeth after just drinking coffee. Coffee is very acidic, and if you go to brush your teeth right away, you are rubbing the acid on the tooth and eroding the tooth. And do not brush your teeth after breakfast, but brush them beforehand, because if you brush them "Brush immediately, you will damage the enamel."

Dr. Manouchehri explained that our teeth are made up of minerals such as enamel, dentin and cementum (a calcified layer that covers the root of the tooth), and when we wake up in the morning they are covered in bacteria that must be removed before we start the day, including before eating breakfast.

"Skip this step, and you'll be leaving your breakfast pile on top of food buildup all night long. This nasty combination, along with the acidity of coffee, is the main cause of enamel erosion," she warns.
