Saudi Arabia : The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah begins receiving pilgrims and issuing their visas

The Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah began receiving Umrah pilgrims and issuing their visas in coordination with the Guests of God Service System, after the end of the Hajj season for the current year.

The Ministry receives pilgrims annually immediately after the end of the Hajj season.

The Saudi authorities announced that the number of pilgrims this year reached more than 1.833 million people, and the percentage of pilgrims from Arab countries reached about 22.3 percent.

The General Authority for Statistics in the Kingdom published details regarding the number of pilgrims this year, as “the number reached 1,833,164 male and female pilgrims, including 1,611,310 male and female pilgrims who came from outside the Kingdom through various ports.”

It also revealed that the number of male pilgrims out of the general total number of pilgrims at home and abroad amounted to 958,137 pilgrims, while the number of female pilgrims reached 875,027 pilgrims.

Regarding the statistics of pilgrims coming from outside the Kingdom, the Authority explained that the percentage of pilgrims coming from Arab countries reached 22.3 percent, while the percentage of pilgrims from Asian countries other than Arab countries reached 63.3 percent, while the percentage of pilgrims from African countries other than Arab countries reached 11.3 percent, while the percentage of pilgrims from Asian countries other than Arab countries reached 11.3 percent. European, American, Australian and other unclassified countries: 3.2 percent.
