Russia is developing fast military boats equipped with missile launchers

The Russian "Bella" shipbuilding factory announced that it is working on a project to develop fast military boats equipped with missile launchers.

On the sidelines of the IMDS-2024 International Maritime Defense Exhibition, the head of the design department at the factory, Yuri Dankin, said: “The experts at our factory, in cooperation with the experts from the Russian company Splav, have developed mechanisms that will allow the Raptor 2.0 boats to be equipped with missile launch systems, and these weapons will increase the combat capabilities of the boats.”

He added: “We reviewed a detailed project to develop the new Raptor boats, and we are ready for the serial production stage of them, and we received a request from the Russian Ministry of Defense to manufacture them. Technically, the Raptor 2.0 boat will be a fast attack boat, with high combat characteristics, and approximately one and a half meters longer than the previous Raptor boats.” It will be equipped with a pair of engines that enable it to move at a speed of more than 50 knots, and it will be equipped with a combat unit that can be controlled remotely, which includes a 12.7 mm Kord machine gun and two 7.62 mm machine guns, and it will be equipped with laser systems to detect targets and enemy jamming systems.

Russia has been developing Raptor boats for several years within the framework of Government Project No. 03160 of the country’s Ministry of Defense, to be multi-tasking and designated for the Coast Guard. These boats can also carry out surveillance, guarding and rescue missions, and support ships and marine vehicles.

The " IMDS-2024 " exhibition will be held at the "Island of Fortresses" military complex in the city of Kronstadt, near Petersburg, from June 19 to 23.
