The sports newspaper "Marca" revealed that Sergio Arribas, the former Spanish Real Madrid and current Almeria player, saved a person and his wife from drowning while vacationing in the Maldives.
The Spanish newspaper reported that Arribas was in the swimming pool in his room when he noticed a couple struggling to stay alive while diving.
Without hesitation, Arribas jumped into the water to help the couple, Marca reported.
According to the report, the couple had drifted too far from the beach and were struggling to keep their heads above the water. Arebas reached them and helped them return to shore, where they were met by a group of people who also rushed to help them.
Arribas is 22 years old and a graduate of the Real Madrid Academy, but last year he preferred to leave the Royal Club and join Almeria in order to have the opportunity to play for a greater number of minutes.
The young player participated with Almeria in 34 matches in the Spanish League last season, during which he scored nine goals and provided five assists.
