Since the beginning of 2024, the military council troops raided Matara, Mandalay, which fled. According to those helping war refugees, more than 8,000 residents of Thabang Jin and Pyin Oo Lwin townships are currently finding it difficult to live and eat.

Thabangjin Township Ma Taung, Tamarin Hill About five thousand local people from six villages, including Silikangone and Luklaik village. Matara Township five tubes, Pinya, About 2,000 residents of Udein and Sambate villages and more than 1,000 residents of Pyin Oo Lwin Township are still fleeing, he said.

A person helping refugees in Matara township told RFA that because of the current rain, they need shelter more than food.

"The main thing is that it's in the rain, so if they stay safe and secure, they won't get sick, so it's okay. They can eat whatever they want. Now they live like this, and if it rains a lot, they're in a lot of trouble."

Among the fleeing locals are the elderly, He said there are sick people and some medical supplies are needed because pregnant women and children are participating.

RFA reached out to U Thein Htay, Minister of Economy, who is the spokesman for the Mandalay Region of the Military Council, to get a response on the matter, but he did not receive a response.

Most of the war-affected refugees had to abandon their farming activities and are still hiding in places where they can't escape from the convoys, so they have no income and are facing hardships, said those helping the war-affected refugees.
