A Nairobi mosque on Friday held the funeral of Ibrahim Kamau, 19, who was shot and killed during a demonstration on Tuesday to protest the government's tax bill, which has since been withdrawn.
Mourners paid their respects to Ibrahim Kamau during the funeral service and later carried his coffin through the streets of Nairobi.
Protesters stormed parliament on Tuesday and drew police fire in chaos that left several people dead, including 22 according to some sources.
Police in Kenya's capital fired tear gas Thursday to disperse anti-tax protesters who continued to gather despite President William Ruto's rejection of an unpopular tax law that sparked deadly unrest earlier this week.
The finance bill has met with fierce resistance from a Kenyan public suffering from rising living costs, particularly from young protesters.
Protesters who continued to gather on Thursday said they still did not trust Mr Ruto, despite him returning the finance bill to parliament with promises to make cuts to replace proposed new taxes and fees on a range of items and services, from egg imports to bank transfers.
Rest in peace!
