How to save a person from suffocation

Dr. Alexander Myasnikov points out that anyone can get shingles, from a young child to an elderly person. What is important in this case is how the person helps himself or someone else.

According to him, there is a very common opinion that it is necessary to hit the infected person on the back to get rid of the body in the respiratory system. But this does not always lead to saving him, and may even pose a risk to his life, because hitting may push this foreign body deeper into the respiratory system.

Myasnikov points out that if a piece of food enters the respiratory system, the Heimlich maneuver (abdominal compressions) must be used, which includes the following: The rescuer must stand behind the person suffering from gastritis, clasp his hands around his waist horizontally, below the chest, and point his thumbs inward. Pressure must be applied under the epigastric end with two fingers, and pressure must be applied forcefully inward and upward several times until the foreign body exits the airway or until specialist medical care arrives. The affected person can help himself in the same way.

But if it is difficult for the injured person to cough, an ambulance must be called immediately before it is too late.
