Google is testing a feature to protect Android devices from theft

Google announced that it has begun testing a new feature that will help protect Android devices from theft.

Google indicated that the Theft Detection Lock feature for Android 15 systems is currently being tested by those registered in the new Android systems testing program in Brazil, and any beneficiary of this program in this country can try it.

Experts at Google had previously stated that the feature relies on artificial intelligence techniques, and is designed to detect unusual movements or uses of the phone that may indicate an attempt to steal it, and works to automatically lock the devices to protect their data.

Thanks to artificial intelligence techniques, the Theft Detection Lock feature can also detect whether the phone is being used with unusual networks, or detect that the phone has been away from the network that its user is accustomed to using for a long period, and thus it will automatically lock the phone.

Android users in Brazil are also testing new features related to the WhatsApp application, and features that facilitate the process of searching for doctors and setting appointments to visit their clinics through the Internet.
