On Friday, firefighters extinguished a fire that broke out in agricultural and forest lands in the village of Ruwaymiya in the Latakia countryside, western Syria, leaving behind 7 dunams of burned land.
The Director of Civil Defense in Latakia Governorate, Jalal Daoud, said that a fire was extinguished in the village of Ruwaymiya in the governorate in cooperation with the fire brigade and forestry personnel, pointing out that the concerned authorities began their investigations to find out the causes of the fire.
Daoud pointed out that “the damage is estimated at about 7 dunums, distributed among agricultural lands of citrus, olive, and forest trees,” stressing that “with the cooperation of the tripartite firefighting system, the fire at the site was extinguished and it entered the cooling phase.”
