Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan confirmed that he informed Chinese officials that changing the outlook in the entire world and the Islamic world, especially with regard to the life and cultural rights of the Uyghur Turks, is in the interest of everyone.
During Fidan's stay in China, the Turkish minister also visited the Shangyang Uyghur region, where he met with the Regional Secretary of the Chinese Communist Party, Ma Xingrui, and the region's governor, Erkin Tuniyaz.
Fidan indicated, in statements to the official Chinese television channel CCTV, that his priority in his visit to China is to strengthen relations between the two countries in the political and other fields, especially trade cooperation, indicating that China is Turkey's second largest trading partner.
He stated that the volume of trade exchange between the two countries is heading to reach 50 billion dollars, pointing to the increase in Chinese investments in Turkey, and noting the possibility of a serious partnership with regard to technologies for exploiting tourism, energy, nuclear energy and precious metals.
Fidan stressed that Beijing’s consideration of the Uyghur issue is a matter of wealth and not a problem, and the change in outlook in the world in general and the Islamic world in particular with regard to cultural rights and the life of the Uyghurs is in the interest of China, Turkey and everyone, adding: “Therefore, what we always say is that we support the one-China policy that China is pursuing. We support its territorial integrity and sovereignty.”

Regarding the Gaza Strip, Fidan stressed that the most urgent matter now is “an immediate end to the internationally supported genocide committed by Israel there,” stressing the necessity of delivering humanitarian aid to the Strip, stopping the conflict, and returning the displaced to their areas.
Fidan focused on the importance of the two-state solution, saying: “In parallel with this, we as an international community need to implement the two-state solution without any delay,” warning of the risk of facing a “bigger war” in the future unless the current situation in the region is ended.
He stressed, "The two-state solution is important, and we value China's international position in this regard in support of the two-state solution, as it is very important to support the two-state solution, a ceasefire, and the delivery of humanitarian aid. In this regard, I believe that China is playing a good and constructive role."
Since October 7, 2023, Israel has been waging a devastating war on Gaza. It left more than 119,000 Palestinians dead or wounded, most of them children and women, and about 10,000 missing, amid massive destruction and famine that claimed the lives of children and the elderly.
Israel continues this war despite a decision by the UN Security Council to stop the fighting immediately, and orders from the International Court of Justice to end the invasion of Rafah (south), and to take measures to prevent acts of “genocide” from occurring, and to improve the miserable humanitarian situation in the Strip.
It is noteworthy that Fidan began his first official visit to China on Monday at the invitation of his counterpart, Wang Yi, and will conclude it today, during which he met separately with Wang and Chinese Vice President Han Jing, and discussed with them bilateral relations and enhancing cooperation, as well as other issues.
It highlights deepening ties, and advocating Uyghur rights.
