American businessman and billionaire Elon Musk threatened on Monday to ban the use of Apple devices in his companies due to artificial intelligence technology provided by Apple Intelligence.
"I don't want this. Stop this creepy spyware or all Apple devices will be blocked and kicked out of my companies," Musk wrote in response to a post by Apple Intelligence chief Tim Cook, who said his company was a "new chapter in artificial intelligence."
Earlier on Monday, OpenAI and Apple announced a partnership to integrate ChatGPT into Apple applications. In this way, the smartphone and technology company will integrate ChatGPT AI technologies into iOS, iPadOS, and macOS operating systems.
The AI technology for iPhone, iPad and Mac combines the power of creative models with “personal context,” according to the statement, and Apple Intelligence will allow various texts to be shortened, corrected and verified.
In addition, the new artificial intelligence will be able to generate transcripts for phone calls. Users will also be able to create images using the Image Playground tool. Access to ChatGPT will be integrated into iOS 18, iPadOS 18, and macOS Sequoia.
OpenAI is best known for creating the ChatGPT bot, which gained popularity after its launch in late November 2022, amassing its first million users in less than a week. One of the founders of OpenAI in 2015 was American billionaire Elon Musk, who later cut ties with the startup.
