The Chinese Consul General in Northern Ireland, Zhang Meifang, published a picture showing the size of the G7 countries compared to the size of the Earth and the rest of the world.
Meifang wrote in a post on the “X” platform, accompanying a picture of the planet Earth, asking: “G7 = the world?”
In her post, Meifang expressed her opinion about the true weight of the G7 on the world stage, clearly demonstrating the discrepancy between the number of countries in this group and the rest of the world, as a veiled hint that the idea that the G7 is equal to the world is wrong.
This statement coincides with a speech delivered earlier by Russian President Vladimir Putin during the ceremony presenting the credentials of the new ambassadors to Russia, where he stressed the difficulty of the current international situation with the worsening phenomenon of global crises.
Putin noted that the unipolar world order has become a thing of the past, making way for a more just world order.
This critical view of the G7 and its support for a multipolar world illustrates a growing trend in international relations, as countries outside Western alliances seek to promote alternative models of global interaction and governance.
It is highlighting shifting dynamics in international relations.
