Chinese television indicated that the satellite had entered its planned orbit. This is the 524th launch of Chinese Long March missiles.

Pakistan's multi-purpose communications satellite was developed by the Chinese Academy of Space Science and Technology. The satellite uses the advanced satellite communications platform Dongfanghong-4. It is designed to operate for 15 years in geosynchronous orbit above the equator, and should cover Pakistan and its surrounding areas.

The satellite will provide users in the region with various services, such as television and radio broadcasting, advanced regional communications, ultra-wideband connectivity, and advanced navigation.
