China is developing new nuclear submarines

The Navy Recognition website, which specializes in military affairs, reported that China is developing a new generation of multi-use military nuclear submarines.

The website noted that "some Chinese social media pages recently circulated pictures showing a model of the latest Chinese Type-093B multi-use nuclear submarine, equipped with vertical missile launchers."

According to the site, the new submarines will be upgraded versions of the Type-093 submarines, of which American intelligence reports indicated that the Chinese army possesses six pieces. Each submarine is 107 meters long, and its water displacement is equivalent to 6 thousand tons. It is also armed with torpedoes and anti-missiles. For ships with a range of up to 300 km.

Experts at Navy Recognition assume that the new submarines may be armed with new YJ-21 anti-ship ballistic missiles, and these missiles will in the future become the main weapon of promising Chinese Type-55 destroyers.

Some websites indicated that the length of each of the new Type-093B submarines will be 126 meters, its width will be 11 meters, its water displacement will be equivalent to 6,200 tons, it can move at a speed of 30 nautical knots, and it will be equipped with missiles with a range of up to 2,500 kilometers.
