French striker Karim Benzema, a professional with the Saudi club Al-Ittihad Jeddah, revealed the most likely candidate to win the Golden Ball for the best player in the world this year.
Benzema posted, via the “Stories” feature on his Instagram account, a picture of Real Madrid’s Brazilian international star Vinicius Junior and wrote “Golden Ball” on it.
Benzema chose Vinicius to win the Ballon d'Or, hours after the Brazilian star excelled in the Champions League final against Borussia Dortmund, where he scored a goal that helped Real Madrid win by two unanswered goals and crowned it the 15th continental title in its history.
It is noteworthy that Benzema had a strong relationship with Vinicius while he was a partner in the Real Madrid attack.
