At the age of 38, Luka Modric is the oldest player to score in the history of Euro 2024

Croatia national team captain Luka Modric set a historic record in the European Nations Cup, after he became the oldest player to score throughout the tournament, by scoring a goal against Italy, yesterday, Monday, in “Euro 2024”.

The Croatian star opened the scoring for his country in the 55th minute, less than one minute after he missed a penalty kick that was saved by goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, before the “Azzurri” equalized in the 8+90 minute.

Modric scored his goal at the age of 38 years and 289 days, surpassing Austrian Ivica Vastic, who scored at the age of 38 years and 257 days when his country faced Poland on June 12, 2008.

Macedonian Goran Pandev comes in third place at the age of 37 years and 321 days, as his country faces Austria on June 13, 2021.
