Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti nominated the Royal Club duo, Englishman Jude Bellingham and Brazilian Vinicius Junior, to win the Golden Ball for the best player in the world this year.
Ancelotti said in an interview with the Spanish “El Chiringuito” program on Friday: “There will be a fierce competition (for the Ballon d’Or) between Bellingham and Vinicius. Let’s see what happens in the Champions League final, the 2024 European Cup and the Copa America.”
The Italian coach praised the English star, saying, “Bellingham is very mature, and he does not look like a 20-year-old young man or a child like Arda Guler.”
He continued, "I consider him a brother more than a son. He is characterized by the greatest degree of seriousness, professionalism, and a little pride."
The Real Madrid coach continued, "Vinicius is a focused person. He suffered a lot while being subjected to insults and hostile chants, but he did not lose his focus."
He added, "We worked with him (Vinicius) a lot to improve certain things, and he really developed in terms of positioning and playing deep in the attack."
Real Madrid is preparing to face Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League final scheduled for tomorrow, Saturday, at Wembley Stadium in London.
Kudos!
