A mosque in the city of Annecy, southeastern France, was subjected to a racist attack, making the country witness the second such attack against a mosque within a week.

The French Council for the Islamic Religion revealed in a post on the X platform, yesterday, Saturday, that one of the city’s mosques, affiliated with the “National Vision Islamic Community Organization,” had racist phrases written on its walls.

The Council strongly condemned the racist attack, and expressed its full support and solidarity with the Muslims in the region and those responsible for the mosque. The French authorities, for their part, opened an investigation into the incident.

Last Tuesday, the oldest mosque in the French city of Lyon was subjected to a racist attack, represented by writing anti-Islamic phrases on the walls of the mosque.
