Private Indian company Agnikul Cosmos has launched its first Agnibaan rocket of its own production on a suborbital test flight.
This was reported by the Indian newspaper The Economic Times, and said that the launch of the missile took place after three failed attempts, and the missile was launched on May 30 from the company’s launch pad at the space airport of the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) on Sriharikota Island.
The purpose of the two-minute flight to the frontier of space was to test the rocket engine, which was manufactured using elements of cryogenic technology and liquid and gaseous propellants, as well as to test the operation of the on-board components of the rocket printed by a 3D printer.
It is noteworthy that Agnibaan is a two-stage rocket, capable of delivering 300 kilograms of payload to an orbit at an altitude of about 700 kilometers.
It is worth noting that the first private Indian Skyroot rocket was launched in 2022 from the Indian Space Agency airport.
Founded in 2017, Agnikul Cosmos managed India's first private launch pad and space flight center at the state space agency's space airport.
