An expert has warned that a certain smell on your breath could be a sign of serious digestive disorders.

Gut health expert Chris Dubberley said: 'If you notice a persistent, pungent egg odor coming from your breath, it could be a sign of greater danger than you think.'

He explained that this “distinctive” odor is often caused by hydrogen sulfide, a gas produced by certain bacteria in your intestines.

Dubberly continued: “High levels of hydrogen sulfide in the intestines can be an indicator of underlying health problems, such as inflammatory bowel disease and irritable bowel syndrome. This can lead to cell damage in the colon, and interfere with energy use in intestinal cells, leading to inflammation.” And discomfort.”

Chris said: “A simple at-home test to check for bad breath is to lick the inside of your wrist, let it dry for a moment, and then smell it. If the smell is bad, it may be a sign of high levels of hydrogen sulfide, which indicates Deeper health problems.

The British National Health Service (NHS) lists the main symptoms of inflammatory bowel disease:

- Diarrhea that lasts longer than four weeks.

- Abdominal pain.

- The presence of blood or mucus (clear mucus) in your stool.

- Bleeding from the buttocks.

- Feeling tired all the time.

- Lose weight without trying.
