1.2 million pilgrims arrive in Mecca to perform Hajj rituals

The Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Tawfiq Al-Rabiah, announced in a press conference, on Thursday, the arrival of one million and 200,000 pilgrims from all over the world to perform Hajj rituals.

The Minister of Hajj and Umrah said that the competent authorities launched an international campaign to raise awareness of the danger of violating Hajj regulations and fake campaigns in more than 20 countries around the world.

He explained that the national campaign, “ No Hajj without a Permit ,” was launched under the leadership of partners in the Ministry of Interior and the Emirate of Mecca to raise awareness, and then implement the regulations and instructions regulating Hajj, enabling everyone who performs Hajj by regular means to complete the rituals in comfort and order.

He added that the largest cooling station in the world has been prepared to purify the air in the Grand Mosque to soften and cool the atmosphere and operate the Mashaer Train during this year’s Hajj season, with a capacity of 72,000 passengers per hour. The Mashaer Train will contribute to transporting more than 350,000 pilgrims between the holy sites.

He also pointed out that the authorities supervising the performance of the Hajj rites have completed the work of preparing the Jamarat facility to be compatible with the packing and organizing plans, supported by overhead umbrellas and softening the air with cold mist to reduce temperatures and raise the readiness and efficiency of escalators to facilitate pilgrims’ access to the Jamarat throwing sites.
