The Anti-Disinformation Center of the Turkish Presidency's Communications Department revealed on Monday that the claim promoted by the Israeli media of a circulated photo "belonging to the prominent leader of the Hamas movement, Muhammad Shabana, who was killed in Rafah" is incorrect.
The Turkish Presidency’s Communications Department stated in a post on the X platform that the person who appears in the photos “is the Egyptian journalist Mohamed Shabana, and not the prominent leader of Hamas.”
The same source added, "The smear campaign carried out by the occupation authorities should not be given the authority to justify their attacks on Rafah."
Last Friday, Israeli media reports claimed that the occupation army failed in an attempt to assassinate the commander of the Rafah Brigade in the Al-Qassam Brigades, Muhammad Shabana, as a wrong picture of the Palestinian leader was circulated, and it turned out to be of the Egyptian sports critic with the same name.
