The Belarusian president holds Washington responsible for the killing of the Iranian president

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said on Friday that the United States is responsible for the killing of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, because it prevented companies from maintaining his helicopter.

Lukashenko said in a press conference following his extensive meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Minsk: “The United States is responsible for the death of my president, because it prevented companies from maintaining his helicopter.”

He added: "As a person, not as a president, I will say that the despicable and disgusting position of the United States led to this. I mean, first of all, that these scoundrels did not have the right to impose sanctions on ships, planes, helicopters, etc. that transport people."

The President of Belarus pointed out that the United States banned maintenance services for the helicopter that was carrying the Iranian President.

He added: "He (Ibrahim Raisi) is an ordinary and nice person who had a frank and honest dialogue with us, and he was interested in developing his country and protecting the interests of his people. How was it and what happened? A lot has been said about this now. I believe that Iran is the country that will discover what happened there."

Last Monday morning, the Iranian presidency announced that  Raisi and his accompanying delegation were killed  after their helicopter crashed during their return from the Khodaavrin region in Azerbaijan to the city of Tabriz.
