The Pravda news agency reported that the competent criminal court in Slovakia intends on May 18 to decide on preventive measures against Juraj Tsintula, who is accused of shooting Prime Minister Robert Vitso.
Press Secretary of the Prosecutor General's Office, Zuzana Drobova, noted that a petition had already been submitted to the court to arrest the accused Tsintula.
The accused who attempted to assassinate Vizzo faces prison sentences of 25 years or life imprisonment, and it is clear that the relevant case is in the preliminary proceedings stage, and is not being conducted in public.
Last Wednesday, a 71-year-old man named Juraj Tsintula shot Slovak Prime Minister Robert Vitso. Security personnel were able to arrest the perpetrator and it was found that he was a supporter of the liberal opposition in the country.
