"Rule 20" An effective recipe for not overeating

Endocrinologist Dr. Daria Ladygina points out that overeating is a common problem, which can have negative consequences for health.

According to her, in order for a person not to overeat, he must follow simple steps that help control this condition.

She points out that the habit of overeating often appears under the influence of stress, emotional tension, and the search for happiness in food. But the main solution to combat this habit is to "eat slowly."

Scientific studies have shown that following Rule 20 helps lose weight.

The rule includes taking 20 pieces of food measuring 20 mm and chewing them 20 times. During this period, the fork and spoon must be excluded for 20 seconds. These steps must be repeated with every piece of food.

According to her, this method works successfully because it gives the stomach and brain the time needed to send a signal of fullness. Also, during the chewing process, the body produces hormones that suppress appetite, and removing the fork and spoon for 20 seconds allows food to be digested for a longer period. Following Rule 20 leads to feeling full 20 minutes after starting to eat, and this helps control the amount of food and prevents overeating.
