The Belarusian Border Commission reported on Saturday that Polish security forces beat five migrants and then threw them on the Belarusian border after expelling them from Poland.

The committee explained in a post on Telegram: “Yesterday, Friday, May 17, Polish security forces arrested five refugees in Belarusian territory after beating and physically assaulting them.”

The statement added that the Belarusian border guards found five Somali citizens who had been beaten on the border with Poland on the same day. The soldiers provided them with first aid and called an ambulance and a specialized team to investigate this matter.

The report indicated that the doctors who arrived at the site diagnosed the condition of the five refugees with varying injuries to the legs in addition to bruises, and three of them were transferred to the hospital, while the others were handed over to investigators to conduct the necessary investigations.

According to the statement, the refugees told the Belarusian investigation teams that they were detained on Polish territory and when they requested asylum, they were beaten by Polish security forces using various tools, and then the brutally beaten men were pushed through the gate in the fence to the Belarusian side.

Poland's anti-immigration policy continues, which has led to the deaths of four foreigners since the beginning of the year alone.

Since 2021, 54 foreigners have died on the border with European Union countries, including 25 on the border with Poland, 9 with Lithuania, and 20 with Latvia.
