OpenAI has announced the launch of a new tool that enables the detection of images that were designed with artificial intelligence techniques.
According to information reported by The Wall Street Journal, the new tool announced by OpenAI can determine whether the image was created using the DALL-E 3 image generation model, which relies on artificial intelligence techniques.
OpenAI indicated that the new tool is approximately 98% accurate in detecting images that were designed by DALL-E 3, as long as no modifications are made to the image, but this accuracy may decrease if a snapshot of the image is taken and parts of it are cut off. It decreases further if the color of the image is changed, but work is underway to develop the tool to increase the accuracy of its work.
According to the company's experts, determining whether images were created by artificial intelligence is much easier than conducting the same test for texts.
It should be noted that OpenAI had launched a tool last year to detect texts generated by artificial intelligence, but the tool failed to a large extent in performing its required purpose, so the company was forced to abandon it.
