Between January 2024 and May 15, 2024, there were 49 mass killings, with the highest number of deaths due to airstrikes, according to the report.

According to BNI - Myanmar Peace Monitor, the killing of 32 civilians by military council soldiers in Letuttaw Village, Myengmu Township, Sagaing Province on May 11 is the worst mass killing in 2024.

The military council has yet to release anything regarding this statement. The military council has repeatedly denied arresting and killing civilians.

BNI - Myanmar Peace Monitor also said that since the military council has committed more targeted killings against civilians when military defeats have been reduced across the country, the revolutionary forces also have a responsibility to protect civilians.
