Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohammad Ishaq Dar along with his delegation met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Zhanbek Klobayev in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan (Ministry of Foreign Affairs X Account).
Kyrgyzstan has assured Pakistan that it will take all possible steps to ensure the safety and welfare of all foreign students , including Pakistanis, in the capital, Bishkek, and that the perpetrators involved in the riots will be punished according to law.
This assurance was given to Pakistan's Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Education Minister Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui in separate meetings at two different places.
According to Radio Pakistan, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar met Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Jean-Baik Klobayev in Astana, during which they discussed the recent developments in Bishkek and the welfare of Pakistani citizens there.
Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Janbek Klobayev expressed his determination to provide full facilities for the protection of Pakistani citizens and the safe return of students who wish to return to Pakistan.
Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar emphasized that Pakistan's foremost concern is the safety of its citizens, especially the students who were primarily affected by the events of Friday (May 17).
He expressed feelings of insecurity and fear among Pakistani students and requested Foreign Minister Kolobayev to ensure their safety and security.
He also requested that those responsible for the attacks on Pakistani students be brought to justice.

He emphasized that the two countries are maintaining close contacts in this regard.
In the meeting, bilateral relations between Pakistan and Kyrgyzstan were discussed, especially in the fields of energy, communications, trade and public relations. The two personalities expressed satisfaction over the progress of the established bilateral institutional mechanisms.
On the other hand, Education Minister Dugdarkal Kendrabaeva met his Pakistani counterpart Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui at the Queen Elizabeth II Center in London and expressed regret over the incidents in Bishkek.
He apologized for the incidents that caused worry and concern to Pakistani students and their families.
