English player Harry Kane, Bayern Munich striker, was crowned with the Golden Shoe award after the curtain came down on the 2023-2024 season in the European leagues.
Kane won the Golden Boot award as the best scorer in Europe, after counting his goals in the most important tournaments of the Old Continent.
Kane's tally reached 36 goals during his participation in 32 matches, surpassing Serho Geraci, who scored 28 goals with Stuttgart, while Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland came in third place with 27 goals each.
In fifth place, Argentine Lautaro Martinez, Inter Milan striker, finished equally with Belgian Luis Obinha, Leipzig player, and Spanish League top scorer Artem Dovbeck (Girona) with 24 goals.
For the first time, Kane won the European Golden Shoe, in his first season outside the English Premier League after leaving Tottenham Hotspur.
Harry Kane became the first English player since the 1999-2000 season to win the Golden Boot award.
The last Englishman to win it was Kevin Phillips from Sunderland, when he was crowned top scorer in the English Premier League with 30 goals.
The interesting thing is that this coronation coincided with Bayern Munich losing the Bundesliga title to Bayer Leverkusen, after 11 consecutive years of dominance.
Harry Kane played with Bayern Munich in his first season in the team's jersey, 45 matches in all tournaments, in which he scored 44 goals and made 12 assists.
It is noteworthy that previous winners of the Golden Boot award are Erling Haaland, Robert Lewandowski (twice), and Ciro Immobile.
Congratulations!
