Dr. Olga Bokeria, a cardiovascular disease specialist, confirmed that some foods can help clean the liver and improve its function, especially when taking various medications.

According to her, eggs are an excellent product for the liver because they contain the multivitamin choline, which regulates cholesterol levels.

Beets - reduces inflammation, improves bile secretion, and its leaves are rich in potassium. It is also rich in vitamin A, the vitamin B group (1, 2, 6, and folic acid), and phosphorus, all of which act as building materials for liver cells. The fiber found in beets stimulates the bile ducts and prevents bile stasis.
Lemon - reduces inflammation and removes fat from the liver.

The specialist advises to cleanse the liver and improve its work by eating vegetables - radishes, turnips, hot radishes, various types of cabbage, lettuce, garden cress, spinach, etc., as well as garlic and all types of fatty fish.

According to the Consumer Protection Authority, you should eat the following foods:
Pumpkin - contains vitamin A (carotenoids), phospholipids, and omega-3 and omega-6 unsaturated fatty acids, which participate in building the cell membrane of liver cells (cells that make up 80 percent of the liver), and metabolism. Cholesterol, and prevents the oxidation of fats in the cell membrane. In addition, pumpkin is anti-inflammatory and rich in fiber, which stimulates the secretion of bile and positively affects the digestion process.
Red fruits - both types of cherries, red blackberries, and others, because they contain a good percentage of vitamin A, ascorbic acid, and dietary fiber. All of these substances stimulate the growth and regeneration of liver cells damaged by viral hepatitis, alcoholic liver disease, or fatty liver disease.
Green tea - Green tea contains tannin, caffeine and a lot of vitamin C - which has a powerful anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effect. It has been proven that green tea reduces the level of total cholesterol and “bad” cholesterol, i.e. protects against fatty liver degeneration and atherosclerosis.
Turmeric - Turmeric contains curcumin, which has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects. It also reduces the degree of fat oxidation, which protects liver cells from toxins.
