Dr. Galina Shenina, a gastroenterologist, says: “A person traveling on a plane should refrain from eating chocolate, citrus fruits, and exotic fruits that he has not eaten before. In general, it is better not to eat anything, especially if the person suffers from problems in the digestive system.” Because during the flight, the process of peristalsis slows down, which may lead to vomiting, but you can eat a piece of biscuit with a cup of tea, as this helps raise the blood sugar level, which gives a feeling of fullness.
According to her, it is not recommended to drink more than a cup of coffee during the flight. We should know that coffee stimulates the secretion of bile, which may lead to diarrhea.
The doctor advises against drinking juices, including tomato juice, during the flight because they have a negative effect on the pancreas.
She says: “During flights, a person suffers from dehydration and feels a lack of mineral elements and various salts. Then the body believes that all these things are present in tomato juice, but this is just an illusion.”
But according to her, we must not forget to drink water during the trip - 200 milliliters every hour.
