Last weekend, the Earth was hit by the most powerful magnetic storm in the past 100 years, with people collectively beginning to complain of headaches, fatigue, drowsiness and restlessness.
Doctors of Khimki Hospital, Moscow Region, explain whether there is a diagnosis of “weather allergy” and how to deal with it.
According to them, despite ongoing research and studies on the effect of weather conditions and changes in the magnetic field on the human body, evidence-based medicine does not like the term “weather allergy.” That is, such a disease does not officially exist.
But there are many people who are actually affected by weather changes. Women, the elderly, as well as patients suffering from chronic fatigue and chronic diseases are more sensitive to weather fluctuations.
These people can experience joint and muscle pain, headache, dizziness, and nausea. They also suffer from insomnia and even digestive system disorders and problems.
Doctors advise these people during periods of weather fluctuations to quit smoking, drink alcohol, coffee, and concentrated tea, eat more fruits and vegetables, reduce fatty and spicy foods, go to bed on time, and do light exercise even in cases of illness. You should also not engage in intense physical activity. It is better for them to walk in the open air and ventilate the rooms from time to time.
Doctors recommend not linking all of the mentioned symptoms to weather changes. Because such symptoms can appear due to vitamin deficiency, blood diseases, infection, or the beginning of chronic diseases.
