Chinese plan to destroy Uyghur medicine: "take the essence, destroy the roots"

Uyghur medicine is one of the precious heritages of thousands of years of medical treatment and life culture of the industrious Uyghur people. Uyghur medicine is one of the important heritages in the treasury of human medical knowledge.

It is a fact that even the Chinese government acknowledges that Uyghur medicine has a history of thousands of years. There are many valuable medical documents related to Uyghur medicine in the archaeological resources excavated from our country and the written materials taken from Uyghur to foreign countries. Among them, some of the historical documents on Uyghur medicine stored in the historical museums of Berlin, London, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Stockholm, Lund, Tokyo, Paris and other cities have been translated and published. Uyghur medicine, while emphasizing the integrity of the human body, is often closely related to the chain of life in the natural world. Even in the pre-Islamic period, Uyghur medicine used delicate and delicate medical methods such as dissection, embalming, disinfection with garlic, alcohol, etc., opening the skull and removing the cyst, and minor eye surgery. The Uyghur monks visited the mountains, deserts, and gardens of the Uyghur region, and used the medicinal plants they found in practical treatment. Uyghur medicine is not limited to this, but by using western and eastern medicines in Uyghur medicine, they have refined the field of Uyghur medicine.

Indeed, thousands of years of traditional medicine history has deeply penetrated into the social life of Uyghurs, forming a medical culture that is different from other ethnic groups. Because of this, it has become a tradition for the Uyghur people to store and use medicinal drugs at home, and to treat some patients in the traditional Uyghur medical style (that is, local methods). On the other hand, Uyghur medicine is closely related to Uyghur food culture, usually treating patients with food; regulate hot and cold moods; Methods such as matching the patient's internal body balance with environmental characteristics such as air, water, and soil have been widely used. In other words, Uyghur medicine is a medicine of the nation, which has been closely connected with the local characteristics of the Uyghur people for thousands of years. However, it is known that the Chinese government has been playing various political tricks to destroy Uyghur medicine along with Uyghurs.

On May 15, the Chinese-run "Tangritag" website published a news titled "A conference on the development of high-quality Chinese medicine was held in the autonomous region." According to the content of the news, an agency called "Xinjiang Chinese Medicine Administration Bureau" was established in the Uyghur Autonomous Region. The organization's main mission is to promote medical development, protection, and inheritance of Chinese medicine in cooperation with China's National Administration of Chinese Medicine (中医).

The report also said that the President of the Uyghur Autonomous Region Government, Free Tuniyaz, and Yu Yanhong, a member of the Chinese National Health and Healthcare Administration Committee and the head of the National Administration of Chinese Medicines, cut the ribbon and spoke at the construction ceremony of the agency. However, it was the words of these two individuals that revealed the nature of the political conspiracy behind the creation of the so-called "Xinjiang Zhongyi Drug Administration Bureau" in the Uyghur region.

In his free speech, he talked about the protection, inheritance, and training of medical professionals of minority ethnic groups around the goal of the Uyghur region becoming a medical and service center of China's "One Belt, One Road" economic corridor. Yu Hongyan, based on Xi Jinping's important speech at the Zhongyi Medicine Conference, put forward the idea of accepting the Chinese national identity as the central line and "inheriting only the essence".

There is no need to mention all the nonsense of the above two individuals. We can only get the answer if we think about the meaning of the words of the Free World, "protecting and inheriting the medicine of ethnic minorities in Xinjiang" and the words of Yu Hongyan, "taking the idea of the commonwealth of the Chinese nation as the main line and the essence". In other words, according to the words of the Free Tuniyaz, the cooperation between the so-called "Xinjiang Zhongyi Administration Bureau" and China's National Administration Bureau of Zhongyi Medicines is intended to develop Uyghur medicine under the name of "Zhongyi Medicines". Yu Hongyan's "extracting the essence according to the consciousness of the common Chinese nation" clearly indicated that the further development of Uyghur medicine would not be under the Uyghur name, but would only be absorbed into Chinese medicine by "extracting the essence and losing the name".

It should be emphasized that Yu Hongyan's words here are not random words, of course, it can be clearly felt that these words are spoken on purpose from the background of the Chinese 4-character term "to extract the essence" (传承精华) in his words. It is not superfluous, of course, to briefly touch upon the political meaning of the term within China.

In October 2019, Xi Jinping is known to have proposed "taking the essence of the inheritance of Jungian medicine" at a Chinese government conference on the development of Chinese medicine . What is the purpose of Xi Jinping's speech? When we searched for this point, we found such a definition given on the "Learning platform from a strong country (学习强国)" which is a Chinese government propaganda website. This definition was published on the "Guangdong Learning Platform" of this website, and it explained Xi Jinping's words of "Getting the Essence of Inheriting Zhongyi Medicines" as follows: " With the approval of President Xi Jinping , Zhongyi Medicines should obey the law of its own development, ``Getting the essence''. › It is said that So, what exactly is this essence? The ancients have left us many things. There are things we can use and things we can't use. So we need to extract their essence and make those essences work for us. That's what it means to get the essence.'

As we know, "Xinjiang Uyghur Pharmaceuticals" company, which specializes in the Uyghur region, was founded in 2001 under the leadership of Dr. Halmurat Ghopur, the former principal of Xinjiang Medical University and the director of "Xinjiang Uyghur Pharmaceuticals". In 2017, Halmurat Ghopur was arrested and sentenced to death after two years of delay in executing the drug, which was released by the company. His company was subsequently seized by Chinese authorities. According to the published data, among those unjustly punished and detained in camps since 2016, there are many medical experts in the field of Uyghur medicine, such as Dr. Halmurat Ghopur, master practitioners of Uyghur national medicine, and pharmacists.

The Chinese government has linked Dr. Halmurat Ghopur's abduction to political crimes such as "Three Powers" and "Bicentenary." However, if we look at China's "separation" or "vote" campaigns against the "Three Powers" and "Bicentrists", we can see that the kidnapping of Khalmurat Ghopur is closely related to the conspiracy to destroy Chinese Uyghur medicine. That is, we can see some information about this in an article published in April 2019 on the official website of Xinjiang Uygur Medical Hospital. The title of the article is "Let's firmly oppose the three forces and the two-hundreds, and protect the unity of the nation with all our might." This article was written by Dr. Sufi Ghopur, a doctor at the dermatology department of the hospital. In his article, he mentions Halmurat Ghopur as an example: "Khalmurat Ghopur is a ``two-faced man'' who used his scientific qualifications and authority in Uyghur medicine to break the historical divide between Uyghur medicine and Chinese medicine. He also tried to promote national independence, create national conflicts, and divide the country through various means such as textbooks, books, academic lectures, and online propaganda. He is our greatest enemy.

The essence of these ridiculous slanders is that Dr. Halmurat Ghopur foresaw China's black hand on Uyghur medicine, and trying to stop it was considered a "crime" in China's eyes. In fact, we have the right to believe that Halmurat Ghopur was sentenced to death for being a defender of Uyghur medicine, not a "bicentenarian" or "three powers" as the Chinese accuse him.

China took the essence of Uyghur medicine and made its own idea not recently, but since 2010. That is, since the Uighurs were distributed to 19 provinces in China, the Uighurs began to allocate special funds for the development of traditional Uighur medicine. At the "6th China International Import Expo" held in China on November 5, 2023, the " Shipay " snowmobile attracted attention. "Xinjiang Chimu Pharmaceutical Research Institute", which launched this brand, was founded in 2012 and is based on the research of Uyghur traditional medicine (national medicine). In fact, the "Shipay" brand was founded in 2003 by Uyghur doctors in Hotan and was later taken over by Chinese companies.

That is, it is not difficult to see from the above cases that taking the essence of Uyghur medicine and making it work for China is also an important part of the Uyghur genocide. In other words, destroying Uyghur medicine, which has a history of thousands of years, is as important to China as eradicating the Uyghurs. For this reason, just as Dr. Rachel Davut, who conducted research on Uyghur shrines, worried China, Halmurat Ghopurmu, who opposed the integration of Uyghur medicine with Chinese medicine, and Uyghur scholars in the field of Uyghur medicine also worried China. How can China achieve its evil goals if such Uyghur intellectuals, who will bring all the resources of Uyghur to Uyghur, do not disappear?
