During the Zhongguancun 2024 technical forum, China revealed the Vidu model of artificial intelligence, which is expected to compete with the Sora model developed by OpenAI.
According to the information available, Vidu is a model of artificial intelligence that can convert written texts into videos, and it can currently make 1080 resolution videos lasting 16 seconds. After the user writes text related to a specific topic, by clicking a button, he can get a video clip about the topic.
The Vidu model was developed by Tsinghua University and the Chinese company ShengShu Technology, and this model is considered the first major artificial intelligence model in China for generating video clips.
For his part, Zhou Jun, Deputy Director of the Tsinghua Institute for Artificial Intelligence, pointed out that Vidu, as a large model of artificial intelligence created in China, is able to understand and generate elements associated with Chinese culture, such as the panda and the Chinese dragon.
