Apple is developing artificial intelligence processors

Apple is working on a project to develop processors to run artificial intelligence-based programs in data centers.

According to the Wall Street Journal, “The processors that Apple seeks to develop will be designed to work with artificial intelligence technologies and software, and like other Apple processors, they will be produced by the Taiwanese company TSMC, and these processors will depend in their structure on the architecture of the M-series processors intended for Mac computers.”

According to the newspaper, “The project that Apple is working on was launched several years ago, and bears the code name (Project ACDC (Apple Chips in Data Center), and its goal is to use the company’s experience in the areas of developing electronic chips to create new processors that Apple will use with its servers.”

In a recent interview with Reuters, Apple CEO Tim Cook said: “Our company, unlike other giant companies in the field of technology, has not yet presented its large-scale projects in the field of artificial intelligence, and company representatives are commenting on such projects without mentioning the details. We remain optimistic about our capabilities in the field of artificial intelligence, and we are investing in this field.”
