Medical sources in Afghanistan reported on Sunday that at least 15 people were killed as a result of floods resulting from heavy rains in northern Afghanistan.
Heavy rains continue to fall, killing hundreds of people in the northern parts of the country.
Last night, at least 15 people were killed, including 10 from one family, in the provinces of Badakhshan and Baghlan, as a result of floods.
The director of the Natural Disaster Management Department in Baghlan, Hidayatullah Hamdard, announced the destruction of at least 40 homes.
During the past weeks, the northern states of Afghanistan witnessed severe torrents and floods, killing more than 400 people.
Floods resulting from heavy rains and melting snow in Afghanistan cause the death of hundreds of people and loss of property annually.
