Biologist Dr. Roman Oparin, Assistant Professor at the Department of General Biology and Bioecology at the Faculty of Natural Sciences of the Russian Educational University, revealed the benefit of linden flowers.
The scientist said in an interview with the newspaper “Izvestia”: “Linen flowers, which are an ancient folk medicine, contain flavonoids and volatile oils that have anti-inflammatory properties and can help treat sore throat, cough, runny nose, headache, diseases of the digestive system, kidneys, and other diseases. They also have an anti-inflammatory effect.” For allergies: Linden flower tea has a pleasant taste and aroma, has soothing properties, relieves stress, acts as an antispasmodic, and improves the digestion process and the general condition of the body. In addition, linden flowers are used in cooking, to beautify food dishes or to add a special flavor to them.
The expert advises drying linden flowers by placing a thin layer of them on paper or a cloth in a warm, dry place that is not exposed to direct sunlight.
He says: “The flowers should dry completely, within 1-2 weeks. After that, they should be stored in glass or plastic containers with a tight lid and placed in a cool, dry place away from sunlight. According to him, dried linden flowers can be stored for 6-12 months.” Without losing its beneficial properties.
