The United Nations Rapporteur for Human Rights in Palestine, Francesca Albanese, confirmed that the situation in the Gaza Strip has not changed after the International Court of Justice issued a decision to halt the genocide, calling for sanctions to be imposed on Israel.
Albanese stated, “Israel still refuses my entry into the occupied territories to begin my work,” noting that “hundreds of injured people and children were allowed to be treated in Egypt without accompaniment, and that the conditions of the patients who arrived in Egypt for treatment are extremely terrifying.”
She stated that "medical equipment and beds are prohibited from entering Gaza under the pretext of Hamas exploiting them," stressing that "the horror experienced by the people of Gaza cannot be described, and the situation is getting worse in the West Bank as well."
She added: "The United Nations must bear its humanitarian responsibility and provide safety for the displaced," calling for "imposing sanctions on Israel, a ceasefire, and providing protection for the Palestinians," stressing that "Israel must be punished and arms exports to it prevented."
