On Friday, a man set himself on fire in front of the Manhattan courthouse where former President Donald Trump is appearing for a reason whose motives are still unknown, according to US police.
A New York Police spokesman said, "A man set himself on fire outside the court. We are collecting information at the scene."
The incident occurred at approximately 1:30 p.m. (17:30 GMT) in front of the media cameras that spread out in the street to cover the trial.
In a video clip that spread and caused shock on social media, the victim appears to have set himself on fire after putting his hands behind his head, and within seconds he fell to the ground.
Police officers quickly rushed towards him while a man extinguished the flames.
RT apologizes for publishing what was documented by camera lenses, given the ugliness of the scene.
