The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ali Khamenei, said on Sunday that the number of missiles fired towards Israel is a secondary issue, considering that what is most important is proving the ability of the Iranian Armed Forces internationally.
Khamenei added during his meeting with military leaders, “By the grace of God, the armed forces showed a good image of their capabilities and authority. They also showed an honorable image of the Iranian people, and demonstrated the emergence of the willpower of the Iranian people on the international arena.”
He said, "The number of missiles that were launched or hit their target is a secondary topic. The most important thing is to prove the ability of the will of the people and our armed forces internationally."
He pointed out that “our armed forces carried out the operation against the enemy entity at the lowest cost and achieved great achievements, and this was done with great precision.” The Iranian leader stressed that “the armed forces must not stop and continue their work to innovate modern weapons and methods in confronting the enemy.”
Iran launched hundreds of missiles and drones at Israel on April 13 in response to the raid on the Iranian consulate in Damascus.
At dawn on April 19, several drones were shot down in the vicinity of an Iranian military base near Isfahan. Media reports indicated that launching the drones was an Israeli response to the Iranian attack, but Israel did not officially claim responsibility for the targeting.
The Iranian leader stressed that “the armed forces must not stop and continue their work to innovate modern weapons and methods in confronting the enemy.”
