On Thursday, Israeli police arrested Professor Nadra Shalhoub-Kevorkian, a lecturer at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, on charges of incitement to violence.
The Hebrew newspaper "Maariv" said that Professor Nadra Shalhoub Kibourkian was taken to the Harel police station on suspicion of incitement.
The “Democratic Student Gathering” issued a statement on Thursday evening in which it denounced the Israeli police’s arrest of Professor Nadra Shalhoub Kevorkian, considering this arrest as “militia behavior and part of the vindictive and bloody mentality pursued by the political leadership in Israel towards every voice that opposes the war and presents a moral and humanitarian stance against the crimes committed against the Palestinians in Gaza strip".
He stated that the arrest of Professor Nadra confirms “the falsity of Israel’s democracy, which it has sung over the years, and that it is an apartheid state that persecutes everything Arab and Palestinian for its positions, which are considered the basis of basic freedoms in any normal place in the world, and is rampant in its persecution of Palestinian academics and students in universities for what it does.” They hold moral and patriotic values and express their national, moral and humanitarian opinion towards their people and their cause.
In March, Channel 13 said that the Hebrew University in Jerusalem on Tuesday suspended the work of lecturer Professor Nadra Shalhoub-Kevorkian, due to public statements against Israel.
According to the Hebrew Channel 13 , Nadra Shalhoub-Kevorkian said in a podcast, “Zionism must be annihilated... Israel is committing genocide.”
The professor also denied the rape committed by Hamas on October 7, saying that “Israel always lies,” according to Channel 13.
