German Interior Minister Nancy Weiser described the demonstration that took place yesterday, Saturday, in the city of Hamburg against anti-Islam and anti-Muslim media campaigns as "unbearable."
Earlier, the German news agency reported that about 1,100 people participated in a march on Saturday against anti-Islamism in Germany and the anti-Muslim media campaign.
The protesters' banners read: "Germany is a dictatorship of values" and "Caliphate is the solution." The demonstration was organized by the "Muslim Interaktiv" organization, which is considered the successor to the "Hizb ut-Tahrir" organization previously banned in Germany.
“It is difficult to bear the sight of such Islamic demonstrations in our streets,” Weser said. “It is good that the Hamburg police are confronting violations of the law by a large force.”
She continued: “The red lines must be very clear: no terrorist propaganda in support of Hamas, no hate speech against Jews, and no violence,” adding that the German security authorities are closely monitoring the activities of Islamic organizations in the country.
Last November 2, the German Interior Ministry banned the activities of the Palestinian Hamas movement and the Samidoun organization, which organize pro-Palestinian activities in the country.
Earlier, a report by the Federal Association of Registration and Information Review Offices on Anti-Semitism (RIAS) also stated that the number of anti-Semitic incidents in Germany has more than quadrupled since the escalation of the conflict in the Gaza Strip.
