The G7 leaders agreed to particularly demand that Israel not take steps in response to the Iranian attack that would escalate the conflict.
This came according to what the Axios portal reported, citing a source who was present during the discussions, as all leaders were concerned about the possible Israeli reaction and escalation of the conflict. The portal quoted the source as saying: “It was decided that all countries in the G7 will ask Israel in particular not to take steps that would escalate the conflict.”
As previously reported by the White House, US President Joe Biden spoke with G7 partners on Sunday and the leaders condemned the Iranian attack and affirmed their support for Israel.
Last Saturday, Iran launched a large-scale attack on Israel using dozens of drones and ballistic missiles, in response to Israel targeting the Iranian consulate in the Syrian capital, Damascus, at the beginning of this month.
